About Us

Every child has a great ability. The Suzuki Method is patterened on the "mother tongue" approach to learning, the natural way that virtually all children learn their native language with ease.

The purpose of the Suzuki Method is not to produce professional musicians, but to instill every child with the love of music, the discipline of pursuing a long-term goal, and the joy of parent and child cooperation. Additional goals are to enhance a child's cognitive development, focus and concentration, memory skills, self-confidence, and even to build a child's character.

The Kirkwood Academy of Music is both State and Nationally recognized for excellence in the area of Suzuki education. Mr. Kaminsky was selected the "Artist String Teacher of the Year" for Missouri in 2014 by MoASTA, and was selected a registered Suzuki Teacher Trainer by the Suzuki Association of the Americas in 1985. Mr. Kaminsky has been guest clinician in over 450 Suzuki workshops in 33 States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and was invited to teach at the 13th World Suzuki Conference in Matsumoto Japan in 1999, the year following Dr. Suzuki's passing.
